'Personalised to your playing potential'
Rather then have lessons be categorized into by skill level and style lessons with Six String Expression start with a discussion about your experience with guitar so far. I also ask you to list some of your favourite songs or artists that inspired you to take up the guitar to ensure your lessons with me are shaped by your tastes and interests.
'Finding your sound'
After establishing where your journey on guitar has begun I shape the lessons around what sounds good to YOU. At six string expression students are guided and supported to develop their guitar playing to what sounds good to them. From a folk lover picking up the guitar for the first time to an experienced performer wanting to add more to their electric guitar playing, lessons are both flexible and tailor made to what you want from guitar.
'Expression, creativity and exploration'
One of the most rewarding parts of playing the guitar is creating new sounds and writing your own songs. Lessons with Six String Expression have a heavy focus on the progress you can make by just sitting with a guitar and exploring. By learning and breaking down the songs that interest you will learn techniques, new chords and ways of playing. Using all these separate elements of guitar playing you can make your own music, one of the most fun and rewarding experiences in the world.
'Comfort and flexibility'
Six String Expression teaches lessons by coming to you. As long as there is a quiet space and access to guitars learning an instrument in the comfort of your home can provide a level of relaxation and security traveling to the other side of town cant provide. By coming to you there is added flexibility when it comes to organising lessons, incorporating the lessons at a time that suits both the student and the teacher.
